These nights

Nights like these,
I can’t find the words
They seem to have stuck,
in the places where my foot set print
as it was the last time

Nights like these,
I can only remember your hazel eyes
the wrinkled smile,
the ginger cheeks

Nights like these,
I see through the window of the neighbor that screams to his wife,
constantly

Nights like these,
I barely can speak

Nights like these,
I write despicable poems

Nights like these,
I kill flies with my bare hands

Nights like these,
I notice what a ridiculous human being I am.
